OPIKA™ Organic Brown Rice Vermicelli
Opika brown rice vermicelli (bihun in Fujian dialect) has its origin from Fujian province and is a popular noodle dish in S.E. Asian cuisines. It is made from ground whole brown rice, still with the bran intact (not from rice powder), wet milling and traditional extrusion method.
The vermicelli is dried at low temperature for at least 12 hours, then every bundle is hand folded like a ‘nest.’ This aged old traditional process is different from the modern machine-made rice stick method which contains more starch for binding.
